Joan Bennett Ross, a dedicated surgeon and passionate artist, has spent decades mastering both precision and creativity. Her paintings reflect her deep appreciation for nature, light, and form. With influences from the iconic Group of Seven, she captures the beauty of landscapes and the complexity of human expression in every brushstroke.
"I met Joan while walking along the beach at sunset by complete coincidence, as she was in the middle of painting a stunning watercolor of the shoreline in front of my family’s cottage. It felt like such a serendipitous moment, like it was meant to be. The scene was so peaceful and familiar; it instantly captured my heart.
It was such an honour to meet Joan and to have the chance to purchase this piece as a gift for my mother, so we could always have a little piece of Bluewater Bay at home. Her warmth, talent, and the story behind the painting made the experience truly special."
